GEORGE CLOONEY HATES RUSSELL CROWE
Crummy Batman George Clooney and crummy musician Russell Crowe are still at odds according to The Daily Mirror. Crowe accused Clooney of selling out his trade by doing international advertisements and commercials, while Clooney compared those stints to Crowe’s turn in his band “30 Odd Foot of Grunts”.
“I don’t like artists attacking artists. I have a problem with that.
“Russell picked a fight with me and I tried to make a joke out of it - but he came at me again.”
Not to be outdone, Crowe had this to say.
“The job is to take on other characters, otherwise you could just call every character you play the same name. What’s the character in this film, George? George, is it? George plays George in the new movie, George.
“I believe if you take on characters for a living, you can’t make yourself into an icon in order to sell a pair of shoes.”
Crowe basically hit the nail on the head with that one. Clooney is very charismatic and I do enjoy him in films, but he does basically just play himself all the time. Crowe, while dodgy and aggressive at times, is one of the finer actors of this generation. That said, I have no problem with Clooney pimping himself out to corporate sponsorships. I mean, that fifth mansion isn’t going to pay its own mortgage now, is it?
