JENNIFER GARNER PREGNANT IS UNAPPEALING

Apparently I’m not the only one who doesn’t want to catch sight of a preggers Jennifer Garner. Garner’s ABC spy vehicle Alias, now in its fifth season, might be fighting a losing battle with viewers. After being exiled to the 8pm Thursday time slot, the show only pulled in 7.2 million viewers last week, or just over a 6 share. While diehard fans of the show are still drawn to Garner’s square jaw and “Mean” Joe Green shoulder span, her on-screen and off-screen pregnancy leave a lot to be desired.

And in the most ominous sign yet–if press releases can be considered signs–Alias was programa non grata in ABC’s weekly ratings recap released Tuesday. The network that found something nice to say about Supernanny (71st place, 7 million) couldn’t bring itself to spin mother-to-be Sydney. In this instance, silence most likely is deadly.

Maybe Senator Affleck might be able to pull some strings to keep the show running, though the fact that Garner was ready to leave the show after the current season may have sealed its fate long before it was abandoned by television viewers.
